I want to introduce you into the world of wonderful cats -- Kurilean Bobtails. Currently I own five of them -- Taisija Karmino Cat, Serafima Karmino Cat, Filip Romeo-Erica, Gusar Karmino Cat and Grioza Karmino Cat.
My cats belong to Karmino Cat cattery run by Kristina Olšauskienė and I owe a lot to her.
The history of these three cats is convoluted -- I was always a dog person and had a dog since I was small. He had to be put down at age 14... After I began my independent life and discovered that I need a little friend at home I started looking for options. Unfortunately I had to rule the dogs out -- too many trips, to busy a life and I did not want to saddle my friends with taking care of my dog when I was abroad.
Enter Kurilean Bobtails -- I was visiting a friend of mine who had a cat. I was never interested in cats -- too upity and independent for my liking. And then I saw a Bobtail -- adoringly cute and doglike creature, who likes to fetch, play with toys and meets you at the door when you come home. Likes to be petted and played with, can be easily trained and is briliantly clever.
I knew I found the perfect companion for my home. Immediately I went to look at the photos of the last litter that Kristina had (my friend Inga, who introduced me to the Bobtails informed me, that there are two kittens left). There I saw Taisija and decided that she has to be mine and informed Kristina, that I am taking her.
Even before buying Taisija I knew that I want two cats at home, so they would keep each other company while I'm at work. Kristina called me and said that she has a perfect cat for me -- that was Serafima.
A little while after we agreed that I am taking Serafima, Kristina phoned me up and said that there is an interesting situation -- two cats need saving and she can keep on of them but another is a tomcat and needs a different home to live in as Kristina already has too many cats :) Spontaneously I agreed to take him in. That is how I got Filip.
